Louisa Strega Blanca
Born in Northern Italy, Louisa at the tender age of thirteen was kidnapped by pirates when they raided her village for wine and provisions. Serving on board as a cabin girl, she spent the next few years relatively unnoticed. With a voice like a siren and the hair of a mermaid and an ever maturing continence, she eventually caught the attention of the crew. His concerns becomi
ng reality, it finally got to be too much for the captain to control them. Having traveled north to raid the British colonies, the captain decided it was time to remedy the situation so she was sold to a cotton plantation owner in the Carolinas. "Sold for a few cases of rum and five chickens!" the captain would boast. Louisa fared well on the plantation working in the kitchen for the mistress until she caught the eye of the master’s son. Just as the mistress of the house was about to sell her to her cad of a brother up north, the captain returned and reclaimed his prize of the blonde haired woman. Rumor is the cost to retrieve her was the sparing of the life of the said son although truth be told the fight was not that intense. When she was brought back aboard ship a few members of the crew protested her presence and seeing the need to protect Louisa, the Captain let the crew know that she had been found to have mystic powers and was even thought to be a witch. This information spread like wildfire amongst the crew and her new name, Strega Blanca (the Italian translation: White Witch) was born. With the crew afraid to harm her and basking in the favor of the captain, she soon became first mate. Sadly a few months later her lover Captain died of an infection due to a poor job of amputation of his left leg. Fearing what she would do in her grief, the crew elected her captain. Strega turned out to be a good and fair leader and well respected by her crew but once again the winds changed for not long after she became captain she discovered she was with child. Now, if women were scorned aboard ship, a pregnant one was downright despised and certainly not tolerated, even one as revered as she. So, once again Strega came ashore, leaving the life she loved so well. During her time asea she found her favorite port of call was the beautiful city of St. She was not well known there and decided it was a good place to start anew and opened a fine shop where she supplies those sailors she once roamed the seven seas with all those years ago.
