A lot of people think foot pain always starts with the foot.
And yes, it can.
But the shoe may be making things worse without you realizing it.
That is one of the things we look at when someone comes in with pain. Not just the size. Not just how the shoe feels for the first few minutes.
We look at how the shoe actually works with your foot.
A shoe can feel soft and comfortable at first, but still allow too much movement. If it bends too easily, feels too squishy, or does not hold the heel in place, your foot may have to work harder with every step.
That extra movement can create more stress.
So we pay attention to things like:
How the shoe bends.
Whether the heel counter is firm enough.
Whether the fit is secure or sloppy.
How much support the foot is getting inside the shoe.
Because soft does not always mean better.
A shoe can feel good in the store and still be the wrong match for your foot once you start walking, standing, or working in it for hours.
So if your feet have been hurting and different shoes have not solved the problem, this may be part of what is going on.
We can take a closer look, walk you through what we see, and help you figure out what makes sense.
