🍎 FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL — NORTHERN MICHIGAN STYLE 🍎
There was always something about that Tuesday after Labor Day.
Summer wasn't technically over… but when that school bus came rolling down the road, we knew. 😂
New school clothes, new shoes, freshly sharpened pencils, lunch packed, and Mom making sure everybody was up and out the door on time.
And in Northern Michigan, you never really knew what that first-day-of-school weather was going to do. ☀️🍂

It’s Labor Day in Northern Michigan, and you know what that means… Mackinac Bridge Walk Day!
Did you make the walk across the Mighty Mac today? 👟
Or maybe you’ve walked it in years past?
For me, Labor Day and the Mackinac Bridge Walk bring back some of the BEST memories. I especially remember the years my dad volunteered to drive one of the buses shuttling walkers back and forth. ❤️
There’s just something about Labor Day Up North — the bridge, the people, the water, the excitement…and that little feeling that summer is starting to slip away.

🌲💙 Happy Friday, Northern Michigan! 💙🌲
Labor Day weekend is here — that wonderful, bittersweet Northern Michigan weekend when we try to squeeze every last drop out of summer. ☀️🌊
One more boat ride. One more bonfire. One more walk along the lake. One more trip to the woods. Maybe a drive north to Mackinaw City — and for some of you, getting ready to walk that beautiful Mackinac Bridge! 💙
I’m heading off for a little three-day getaway myself, so I might be a little quieter around here this weekend. But I’ll be thinking about home and all those wonderful Northern Michigan Labor Day memories.
Wherever this weekend takes you, be safe, have fun, make some memories and enjoy every minute of it.

❤️ LABOR DAY WEEKEND IN NORTHERN MICHIGAN ❤️
There’s always something a little happy and a little sad about Labor Day weekend up north.
It’s one of those weekends when you try to squeeze in every last bit of summer you possibly can.
One more boat ride.
One more swim.
One more walk on the beach.
One more bonfire.
One more ride through the woods.
One more sunset that you stop what you’re doing just to watch. ❤️
And for so many people, it means getting ready for that wonderful Michigan tradition — walking the Mackinac Bridge.
Labor Day always feels a little like celebrating summer and saying goodbye to it at the same time.
So wherever this weekend takes you — the lake, the woods, the bridge, the campground, the beach, or just your own backyard — be safe, have fun, and make the most of every minute.
Northern Michigan summers never seem long enough. ❤️
