We're sad to share that our long-time friend and former Creative Director, Peter Jarosz, has passed away after a four-year battle with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer, at just 33 years old.
Peter worked with us at DCI for eight years, after attending Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, graduating in 2014 with a B.F.A. degree in Industrial Design. In that time, he was a perpetual source of positivity, developing the Creative Team into what it is today.
Peter's diagnosis came in the early stages of the pandemic when hospitals were on full lockdown. But he persevered, even sending a video to his colleagues before his speech fully returned after surgery, letting us know he was on the mend.
Following his recovery, Peter made significant life changes, focusing on his fitness and mental health. He started training with Runfit MKE, a Milwaukee fitness center that focuses on helping people meet their running goals. With their help, Peter finished two Chicago marathons and countless other races.
He decided to pay it forward by becoming a certified personal trainer with Runfit MKE, focused on helping people with disabilities meet and exceed their fitness goals. Whether it was finishing a marathon running or a 5k walking, Peter was there to help.
We're sad to lose our friend and colleague, but our spirits are lifted by our memories of Peter's enthusiasm, encouragement and warm smile.
In lieu of flowers, Peter's family has requested donations in his name to the American Cancer Society.
