Carlos M. Vergara Jr. is the creative force behind Aesthetic by Carlos, a Milwaukee-based fashion brand rooted in intentional style, elevated storytelling, and bold self-expression. As a fashion curator, creative director, and stylist with over 12 years of experience, Carlos creates collections and experiences that merge timeless tailoring with contemporary culture.

Designer Spotlight💡

Zöe started her foray in fashion design way back in the 80s, when, as she says, “I was so naïve I didn’t know I couldn’t do it. so I just did it.” She was going to school at UWM for Inter-Arts - music, dance, theater - when she took a design class and “just started making clothes kind of obsessively:”

Milwaukee has a thriving fashion design scene and Zoe has been networking in it since her first show years ago, which she heard about through the grapevine and was an MATC / Channel 10 fashion show: “In my experience of showing up, showing up. showing up. you just keep getting invited to participate.” Since those carly days, there have been shows at many different venues including Beulah Brinton Historical So-ciety, the Grace Center, Saint James 1868, the Ramada Inn, Bayshore Mall, and the Public Museum for Milwaukee Fashion Week 2025 and 2026 as well as as Art in Bloom Fashion show spring of 2026!

Designer Spotlight 💡

Abbie jackson creator of ALterior Motive performance wear is an emerging designer that got their start as a performer. Abbies creations are made of premade clothing as a canvas, with hours upon hours of personalized crystallization used to turn them into wearable pieces of fine art. Most pieces have an animator style handmade piece of statement art as a central theme of the garment. With a bachelor in media arts and animation, the artist draws on their background to create sparkling tapestries of whimsy.
