Zoe’s Artist Bio:
Hi, my name is Zoe Swain and I make art as ZiFae NouVeau. I loosely translate this to “The New Fairy”. My style is a loose mix of Art Nouveau, semi-realism, and ethereal realism.
Watercolor, colored pencil, marker, and pen & ink are my main mediums traditionally.
I’ve been drawing, painting, writing, and even animating, since as far back as my shoddy memory allows me to remember. Making art allowed me to survive a tumultuous and tragic childhood. I escaped into fantastical worlds and tried my best to create my own. From my imagination to real life, all throughout my life I’ve created my own beautiful fantasy in the world around me. I solidified my artistry and career by acheiving an art degree from the University of Minnesota.
My drive comes from wanting to emulate ethereal beauty, sight, and emotion. I’m inspired by Alphonse Mucha, the movie & comic “Little Nemo”, and books & music. Eyes, the windows to the soul, are my favorite part to create.
Finally, “Art is Long, Life is Short”, so create “Art for the sake of Art”. Thank you all for appreciating my work, as it is what keeps me alive.
