Had to put off dyeing for a while because of a job that was driving me crazy and had me so stressed I was miserable. More on that later. I am back to dyeing and trying to get my happy feeling back. This is my first hoodie an it was a challenge. Never worked with such thick fabric before. This one is mine since it was a test dye and it came out pretty damn skippy I think. I bought several since the price was affordable and the quality is great. It is the Buffalo Hoodie from Costco and is 70% viscose making it super soft and takes the dye beautifully. This month is free shipping from the Dharma Trading Company, one of the limited dye suppliers in the United States and I went bat s**t crazy. I have about 45 new colors coming to add to the (I can't count how many) due on Wednesday. Besides the hoodies I am working on some pashmina shawls shawls also, size is 80x27. I will be trying these in a more shibori style fold in one color hoping for some fascinating splits to display the wonders these procion dyes can perform. I will posting photos soon. Until then, if you have already liked this page, please share and encourage others to like and share also. I would appreciate you helping to get the Cindy's Tie Dyes soon to be known as dyeing4U off the ground. Thanks all.

Today's project. I got 2 long sleeve shirts by mistake & have been thinking what to do besides folding them. I hate folding sleeves. Thisis my experiment. Fold the shirt & leave the sleeve. Take dryer balls that have been slit, filled with water & frozen. Slip the balls in sleeve, bind with sinew & space each at 5 inches apart & bind with sinew between each. Cover the whole shirt with a generous amount of Ecru (a blah color, but gives great color splits). Then sprayed down heavily with soda ash water. You can see the Ecru working already with the small color splits beginng to show. The fun part adding the dye. Light red & plum blossom on the shirt folds & my favorite black cherry on the balls. Black cherry is good for splits also, I am hoping the sleeves will pop & be the main focus. Iced down & since it is hot & sunny so far this should be ready in 8 hours. Crossing fingers.
