I was so sad to see the news yesterday that Bobby Sherman had died yesterday at the age of 81.

If you were a teen or even a pr***en, you probably had posters of these guys on your bedroom walls!

These two, plus Donny Osmund hung in my room! I would get do excited when my mom would buy me a copy of Tiger Beat magazine!

I listed this NOS Partridge Family board game today and thought now would be the time to share it!

It’s hard to believe it’s been 23 years. When I think of that day, I first think of the ultimate sacrifice given by the first responders, the loss of life by the thousands of people who went to work on that beautiful cloudless day, not realizing that it would be their last.

I remember the eerie silence that descended on the DC suburbs. There was no air traffic, no car horns beeping, no sound outside except the fighter jets circling the beltway.

I remember being glued to the TV that night and for days afterwards. I remember going to work the next day. No one was working, no phone calls, no business. Just more days of watching TV for hours trying to make sense of the tragedy that was 9/11.

I remember worrying about our St Mike’s family. So many of our parents were active military and civilians who worked at the Pentagon.

I remember the man on the following Friday pulled out his bagpipes and played the most amazing rendition of Amazing Grace I’d ever heard on a street corner in downtown Vienna, Virginia.

I remember driving down to the Pentagon and seeing that huge hole torn in the side and seeing tanks and soldiers with weapons on every corner.

I remember the unity that I felt with everyone, men, woman, black, white, Asian and Hispanic. Your political affiliation didn’t matter, what mattered was we were all Americans and we were united. I miss that pride and unity. NEVER FORGET 9/11/2001.

The weather tomorrow here in the triad is going to be gorgeous. A dear friend of mine is finally seeing her dreams come true. As a nurse, she has always supported the community and given back! I’m so excited for her! The grand opening of the DC Market at the Barn runs from 8-5 tomorrow. Market vendors selling all sorts of goods, a small animal swap, face painting and food trucks. 3604 Hwy 158 in Mocksville! If you’re out and about, I hope you’ll stop by!
