Fckthishill

Fckthishill Unique cycling streetwear spawned from intense suffering on hills and climbs. Hi!

We are Jess & Remko, two incredibly passionate cyclists from Las Vegas who have a love-hate relationship with the suffering of riding up hills and mountains. If you've not yelled, mumbled, or thought "fck this hill" while on a bike ride, you've simply not had the distinct pleasure of finding that road that makes your legs explode. On the smallest gear with legs and lungs exploding, Jess uttered th

ose famous words on a steep local climb in the Las Vegas desert and that's how this brand was born. Fckthishill quickly became our place on Instagram to document coffee rides, hard training sessions, bike-packing adventures, and hill climb challenges, showing the world the epic combination of pain and pleasure this sport provides. What started as a daily photo blog has now become its own merchandise that was dreamt up during the endless steep roads we've encountered over the last 10 months.

As many races as I’ve done over the years, this was my first one with an all-women’s start, and it was incredible.

The Belgian Waffle Ride Women Elite and Amateur, along with the Wafer Women Elite and Amateur fields, all started together. For once, you actually knew where you stood in the race instead of trying to figure it out among a sea of men. You could work with the women around you, take turns drafting, chat before the race, or even borrow chapstick from the rider next to you!

There’s something special about racing directly against the people you’re competing with instead of wondering if the next woman is five miles ahead or five minutes behind. It made the racing more strategic, more social, and honestly, more fun.

I assume smaller races are hesitant to adopt this format, but even if only five women signed up, I’d still prefer a women-only start.

More races need this. 👏

What it feels like to leave it all out there! Belgian Waffle Ride Cedar City instantly became one of my favorite courses today, as I felt like it was the perfect blend of sending it and some fun trickery. Had my best day on the bike since Teddy was born a year ago, and I’m so motivated to keep building on this!

Rode the .cc wheels by 65mm deep gravel wheels for first time today and I could feel the difference on all the fast sections!

It’s a vibe! Immediately near the top of our favorite jerseys is this new collab between and .official! We tested the new kit on our first day of recon, which was a hot, sweaty, dusty and challenge affair.

More to come tomorrow so stay tuned as we both get set to race the biggest gravel race of the year!

Ten days from now, we’ll be lining up for our second-ever Unbound, but things couldn’t be more different than in 2024.

When we signed up for the 2024 race, we both had the vision of crossing this epic event off our bucket list. Completing the race, soaking up the atmosphere, and creating memories was our goal.

The race exceeded expectations, and we loved everything about it, thinking of a return to the start line with higher ambitions.

Jess got pregnant in the fall, and Teddy was born on the day of Unbound in 2025, almost exactly when the gun went off! From the hospital, in between naps, we had the live stream going and joked, “We’ll be on the start line next year.”

Writing this, I can’t help but think of the physical and mental journey Jess has been on to again find herself on the doorstep of the world’s biggest gravel race just 364 days postpartum.

Setting power records in recent weeks, Jess seems as ready as she can be, while I’m forever tinkering with my setup and stressing over whether my body will hold up as I aim to win the amateur category.

One fun wrinkle that will push us forward that little extra bit is these sick new skinsuits that Café du Cycliste sent us! Follow this space even more closely as we’ll try to document our journey to Kanas, and Teddy is coming along, and we’ll try to tell the story of our races and what it takes to battle through such an epic event!
