WHALEBONE It’s kind of like a “No Bad Days” tattoo that you don’t regret. Also, there is a magazine that you can expect to see about six times a year.

Our mission is to explore, uncover and celebrate like-minded people and places that exude the positivity and authenticity found at home on the East End. We make clothes, some say they're "The softest things they've ever put on their bodies". Sometimes seven. Maybe eight if you count special limited run and spectacularly awesome zine type things that bear a striking resemblance to the magazine, but are like a younger sibling, who’s difficult but in the end you love all the more for it.

We always say we design things for real life, pieces that we actually want to wear and this one got the full treatment- sun, salt, sunscreen, and maybe a rum floater or two. We’re stoked on how it all turned out- the graphics, the endless swell and the warm memories we’ll have to get us through the rest of the winter.

We love the support, we had a blast putting the Tropical Rendezvous collection to the test- so much so, we just might have to run it back for round two 👀. Thanks for flying with us, as always

Whalebone and Relix came together over a shared love of music, storytelling, and community- the same spirit that’s been pulsing through both brands since the beginning.

Born on the New York coast and the New York stage, both Whalebone and Relix have built worlds around connection. For Relix, that connection started in 1974 as a fan newsletter for Grateful Dead tape traders- a humble passion project that’s since evolved into one of the longest-running and most respected music media outlets in the world. For Whalebone, it started in an old ice house in Montauk, with hand-printed tees and a belief that comfort, creativity, and community belong together.

The designs take cues from the Dead’s iconic imagery and Whalebone’s signature coastal graphics- a playful meeting point between sea and sound, where sun-faded tees meet tie-dye soul.

At its heart, this collaboration is about more than apparel. It’s a nod to what happens when people come together- when music, art, and good energy create something that lasts. The way the Dead built a movement. The way Relix continues to amplify it. The way Whalebone builds community one tee at a time.

Here’s to connection, creativity, and the rhythm that keeps it all alive.
