Hi folks. Cecile here with a small update. On August 25 I broke my leg again, the right leg this time. Surgery was 2 weeks ago & while I'm on the mend, I am also on significant mobility restrictions, including no driving, for at least 4 more weeks.

This makes it close to impossible for me to navigate my business; it involves more standing & maneuvering than you'd think. After the multiple difficulties of the last couple of years, I'm feeling pretty discouraged. Mostly I hate letting people down when they've entrusted me with the things they value.

I am doing my best to get back into the shop as I'm able & will be reaching out to existing clients then. Thank you for your tremendous support over the years; it means more than I can say.

Waited all day for a FedEx delivery & finally went home. I JUST got a text that it was delivered to 35 Elm St. Montpelier. Is there anyone who can grab it for me? I can get it tomorrow! Thank you!!!

Is anyone around Montpelier available to help me get a couple of machines into the shop today?

Today is National Laundry Day, so we thought we'd take a look at a particular bit of Vermont history: Montpelier was once the home to the nation's clothespin industry with companies like United States Clothespin Company and its many competitors.

This picture is of the large model of a wooden U. S. Clothes Pin, constructed by Charles H. Ellicott Jr. in the 1920s. This model clothes pin was displayed on top of the building at the south end of Montpelier’s Main St. bridge across the Winooski River until sometime in the mid 1900s when the building was torn down.
