When studio 'work' is actually pure joy! I rarely advertise any more for the quilt studio, preferring to have the type of work I do find it's own way to me. In October 2019, I had 30+ cashmere sweaters delivered to me with a request to have 3 quilts/blankets made for family members. Since I am proficient at t-shirt quilts, this was a natural for me. Little did I know the journey I would take as I figured and fashioned these unique and challenging quilts, finally delivering them in December 2020. Here is some photos of the process & puzzling that went into the completed quilts that started from cashmere sweaters, each one having a different weight and knit density.
Today, having finished this commission work - although taking over a year to complete -- the joy is even more sweet when, in real life, I witness a daughter attain a graduate degree, move across the country, and get married (despite Covid-19). Also, Cliff and I got married, and were able to acquire the family ranch, make it our own -- Rimrocker Ranch-- where we raise craft beef and chase a lot of irrigation sprinklers around.
