Happy Whoopie Pie Wednesday! 🍫🥧

What have you been creating? Feel free to share. Whoopie!! You did it! 🎉

As for me? I used white on my last few pieces and was itching for some color! 🌈

One of my sweet followers gave me this darling China cabinet that she had owned for many years. She painted it in the past and added her own creative touch with stencils. I’ve had it a while, just waiting for inspiration to strike! I hope she loves the transformation!

My inspiration for this piece came from some vintage Waverly wall paper from the 50’s that I had on hand. 🌸 I love the mid century modern vibe of the walllpaper, so I custom made a peachy pink paint color to exactly match. It’s hard to capture in photos but this piece is bright and cheery and vintage looking in all the right ways. The petite size of the cabinet pulls off all of this color brilliantly!

Hello My Sweets! 💞

I know it has been quite some time since I have posted and I am so sorry for that! I have been off traveling and doing a little living! ☺️

It's Whoopie Pie Wednesday!! 🥳

As for me, I am thinking lots of color for my next piece! The last few pieces have been beautiful, but neutral. It has me itching for some color creativity!! 🦄 I have a vision, now I just have to bring it to life. Stay tuned!!

Happy Must Have Monday!

This week I posted the transformation of a new treat, Cloud Cake. I got so many questions about one of the "must have" features that transformed the buffet from dated to modern……..the gorgeous new pulls! 💫

I researched MANY different brands and read all of the reviews before I finally ordered these pulls on Amazon. Even with good reviews, these pull were so inexpensive, I was nervous about how the quality would be. I was so pleasantly surprised! These pull are heavy and solid and the brass color was just what I was looking for to match the wallpaper that I planned lining the drawers with. Hello My Sweets!!

I don’t know about you, but here in North Carolina, this Spring weather has my creativity bursting! I have been working on this piece for quite some time, as it seemed to present challenge after challenge!

I usually like to honor the timeframe that a piece is from and incorporate that style into the transformation, but something was different with this piece. When I saw it on Marketplace, I had a vision for it that was different from my “usual” style. I wanted to try the Modern Organic style that is so popular right now and knew this was the perfect piece.

How is it Monday again already?!? I am late in the day for this one, but better late than never! 🙄

Today my “Must Have Monday” item is one (or several) that I use every single time I paint – paint brushes! 👩‍🎨 I have tried many brushes and these brushes are by far the best! They have all different shapes to make the job easier. For example, I will never try to paint spindles again without their round brush. The fan brush is fantastic for trim that is grooved. I could go on! They clean easily and I never have to worry about bristles falling out onto my painted surface. What are these marvels of modern day crafting, you ask??? Z!bra paint brushes! Hello My Sweets!

I wanted to share a sweet little transformation with you. In fact, it’s so sweet, I named it Sweet Tart 🍒.

It started life as an antique desk that I got around 15 years ago (see before picture) because I needed a small vanity to fit in my bathroom. So for it’s second life, I painted it silver and created a 3 way mirror out of a medicine cabinet (see before 2 picture).

Fast forward 15 years later for it's third life! It’s painted a delicious creamy white with gold accents. I applied gold leaf to all four legs for some sparkle and glamour. I loved the shape of the pulls, but wanted them gold so I used an oil based gold paint pen and “colored” them. I wasn’t sure if that would work or not, but they came out perfectly, and with great adhesion. The drawer is lined with a beautiful white fabric that has metallic gold roses. The end result is the sweetest little vanity with a touch of glamour and class. 💫

Hello My Sweets! 🧁

It has been a minute since I have posted a "Must Have Monday" product to make creating your treats easier! Today I chose a product that is tried and true and has saved me a lot of headaches.

Sealing is one of the most important steps and I have found this one to be the most user friendly. Finishing your piece to perfection and then to have it ruined by a streaky sealer is the worst! Don't do that to yourself. I was only able to find a 3 pack (supply issues), so grab the 3 pack while you can (supply issues)!
