I found this awesome handmade brass (I think?) parrot at a local Goodwill and knew he had to come home with me. The detail and craftsmanship on him is pretty amazing. I originally thought he would hang on a tree in the back yard but decided I didn’t want to risk damage to the metal. He’s now happily perched in the beach house sunroom. ❤️

Wow! This thing went faster than a fat kid eating a cupcake! I bought this Loevsky & Loevsky floor lamp really cheap about a year ago with the intention of refurbishing it. In her day, I know she was an incredible piece but she needed a BUNCH of work! New wiring and some welding for starters. I finally accepted the fact I was never going to get around to it so I put it on Marketplace today for free. My messages immediately started blowing up and within 30 minutes she was on her way to a new home where she’s going to be beautiful again. Bittersweet but happy it’s out of my patio! 😂❤️

Today’s Goodwill find! Let’s have a lamp lesson:

This is a vintage Paul Hanson Baccarat-style crystal and ormolu table lamp.
The lamp features a crystal urn-shaped body with lobed detailing.
It is raised on a square, gilded ormolu (brass) base.
Lamps of this style were likely manufactured in the mid-20th century, often attributed to Paul Hanson Lighting Co.
They are typically inspired by 19th-century French design

I paid $9.97 each! They are absolutely gorgeous and super heavy. You can’t buy plastic Walmart lamps for that! This is a perfect example of how you can have really nice pieces without spending a fortune.

My babies are buckled in safely for the ride home. 🥰
