In the United States, there are a total of forty-five states (including the District of Columbia) that apply general sales taxes to all goods within the state as well as certain services.
Out of these, there are thirty-seven states, Oklahoma included, that allow general sales taxes at a local, or city level.
There are five states that carry the highest average local sales tax rates. Oklahoma is one of these states, with an average local sales tax rate of 4.5 percent, a max local sales tax rate of 7.00 percent, and an average combined state and local sales tax rate of 8.98 percent.
Sales tax collections in July represent sales from May 16 to the 18 and estimated sales from June 1 to the 15.
The city of Billings July 2025 revenues decreased 16% compared to July 2024 while Red Rock reached a 10% increase, Marland a 365% increase, and Morrison a 197% increase.
Mulhall’s increase in revenues was 10% and Orlando’s was a 51% increase.
The community of Douglas showed a 0.2% decrease while Covington exemplified a 21% increase.
Perry collected $251,701.31 in July 2025, an decrease compared with July 2024 total of $263,561.71.
With those numbers, Perry was down 5 percent.
Perry use tax was down for July 2025 as the city collected $645,866.58. This puts Perry down 0.44 percent compared to 2024 collection of $46,069.53.
Use tax represents online sales.
Noble County sales tax went up 14 percent for the month of July 2025. Noble County collected $43,343.37 compared to 2024’s collections of $38,040.90.
