This Louis Vuitton garment bag had major sentimental value for our customer. It came into the shop beat up and almost unusable, and they asked us to repair the whole thing.

We replaced all the leather across the entire bag to make sure it's ready for many more years of travel. We love doing these kinds of restorations so our customers can keep their favorite pieces and eventually pass them down to their kids and grandkids.

We just finished working on this denim Ralph Lauren tote. The corners were starting to fray, and our customer had the great idea to add leather corners that match the brown on the Polo Bear. We used a deep chocolate brown leather to accomplish this and give the bag a custom look.

It turned out great, and she’s ready to keep using it.

This is a first for us. This patent leather Louis Vuitton was originally tan, and we dyed it red.

It’s the first time we’ve tried this specific transformation, and we think anybody would love the result. It’s a great way to give an old favorite a completely new look.

This customer brought in a small Louis Vuitton handbag with a somewhat stuck zipper. Now, sometimes the best repair isn’t a total replacement.

We suggested waxing the zipper instead of a replacement, and refinishing the pink leather to restore a bit of its color.

The goal for this Louis Vuitton was simple: get it back to the way it was originally intended to look. Our customer wasn't happy with a previous repair job done elsewhere, so she brought it into the shop.

We replaced the top binding and side ties to ensure the structure and color were a perfect match. It was a pleasure to get this bag back in working order for her.

You have to be careful with how you store your patent leather. This customer stored her shoes improperly and ended up with dye transfer on the patent finish.

Getting dye transfer out of patent is just about impossible. Even the chemists couldn't give us a perfect solution for it. The only way to save these was to dye the whole shoe black.

They turned out great and she’s back in business with a pair of shoes she can continue to wear!

People ask us all the time how Rago Brothers started.

Our family has been repairing shoes and leather goods since the early 1900s.

The trade was brought here from Italy by Tom’s grandfather and his brother, and it's been passed down through the family ever since. Today, we have multiple generations working side-by-side in the shop every day, and believe it or not, we all get along pretty well.

The secret to staying in business this long is simple. Do quality work, put in the hard hours, and make sure the customer leaves happy. We don't see any reason this shouldn't go on for another hundred years.

This customer drove all the way from New Hampshire to have a custom job done.

She had a specific vision for her Tiffany & Co. bag. She brought in her Marc Jacobs tote as an example and asked if we could shrink the Tiffany bag down to that exact size.

We shortened the top and added structure to the sides and base to make it happen. Now she has a custom piece that is the perfect size for her.
