September brings gratitude in ways i never would admit. in all transparency, i have had the hardest 10 months yet. although i thought there would never be a day i could breathe a little lighter, i praise my God because breathing became easy. Sharing these experiences, and testimonies, are so crucial to others. so i want to share mine, for the young adults, and other women and girls who feel like breathing is a little heavy.
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me.” Pslams 23:4.
Through this period of time, I clung tightly to my Heavenly Father to deliver me to the other side. I’ve never held Jesus near as I do now.
For 10 months, I struggled with the enemy fighting harder and harder for me. I had to make uncomfortable choices, and life changing decisions, that weren’t in my plans. I felt lost, discouraged, and forgotten. I was choosing to fall back in love with life and Jesus, but the enemy wasn’t quite done with me. I struggled with so many mental health battles, and even on my best days, I still am. For months I found myself searching for ways to fill a void, a longing for normalcy, familiarity, and comfort.
I have always struggled deeply with myself, and personal things I wish I could change. During this time, those emotions became extremely heightened due to a large amount of experiences throughout my teenage and college years. Worldly views, and expectations create such an unrealistic idea for young adults in aspects of appearance and beauty standards.
I have always found a sense of purpose with Dear Caroline, because I have the opportunity to help other women feel beautiful in all the ways God intended them to. To me, that is the most precious feeling. I have learned that falling in love with Jesus, forms a love for yourself you might have never previously had.
even now, i find myself making decisions that God has blessed me with that seem impossible. although i just reopened on franklin, i enthusiastically announce, that we are moving on MAIN!!!!!
In all my days, trials, and tribulations, I would have never thought I would make it here.
so remember, this too shall pass.
