This past week I was asked by a client to make a patch from his company logo. Of course I stepped up to this challenge. In the process I found a great digitizing company who generate designs from a jpeg (which I screen grabbed from his website). This is how they came out . Oh why a patch you ask? Well they were to cover up another logo.
I am happy with the outcome as was he.

What started out as playing with different appliqué techniques and some free motion embroidery and quilting … well it turned into a quilt I made for myself! I did all the quilting on my Bernina 880+ … I am loving this machine more and more as I discover new functionality and capabilities.
Another service I am offering now is: custom quilts, T-shirt and Memory Quilts.

A weekend of Free Motion practicing and it is certainly paying off. Another block test of my appliqué flowers which I am doing on each block of a quilt I am making for myself. As you can see from the first block, I am most definitely improving and now feel ready to begin with the actual blocks for my quilt ….
The green block was my first.

Getting my free motion embroidery/quilting practice in. Made this block of Appliqué flowers (thank you Heather Hopkins for the pattern) finished off with free motion detail in black. Free motion embroidery or quilting on my Bernina is not easy - practice practice practice! Am getting used to using my BSR (stitch regulator) and the feel of the machine when doing free motion.
This is far from perfect, but I think it’s perfectly imperfect ! Even the back looks ok…

For the last 3 Saturdays I have had the pleasure of teaching young Hannah to sew. She is such a keen learner and definitely has the gift of creativity for sewing. She did so well on her first lesson I decided to help her make a dress for herself. As a first big project I think she did a great job. Well done Hannah I am looking forward to seeing your progress.

Another new embroidery lesson under the belt. Today we learned to stay stitch a design and then to embroider on hand towels. Love learning new skills and gaining knowledge on how different stabilizers can be used for a perfect outcome.

Just a little chuffed with myself…. Embroidered this name for this quilt. It may seem simple but I had to size the lettering down and get it to fit the correct hoop … and, well it wasn’t all that difficult in the end. 😊😊😊.
