I have been keeping a secret… and y’all, it has been HARD!
A little while ago, I got brave and filled out an application to show at New York Fashion Week. I’m pretty sure I talked myself out of it at least twice before I ever hit that submit button… but somehow, I did it!
And then I got the email…
I was accepted to show 10 gowns at New York Fashion Week!
Goodness gracious. Even typing that still makes my stomach flip!
If you know me, you know that most of our adventures start with me calling Alley and saying, “Okay… I have an idea.” And bless her heart, she always answers the phone!
Well… this idea was a little bigger than usual.
Since I found out, I think I have tried to back out about three times a day. I have prayed, sketched, worked, packed, panicked, unpacked, repacked… and probably drove everybody around me a little crazy.
I even asked Les more than once, “Do you think we should just stay right here in Kentucky?”
And every single time he looks at me and says, “No, Renee. Keep going. You can do this.”
That man believes in me even when I’m having a hard time believing in myself.
So… here we go!
What an honor. What a privilege. And honestly, what an answered prayer.
To the few people who have known this secret and have prayed for me, encouraged me, helped me, listened to me panic and reminded me to keep going… thank you. I love you more than you know.
One week from today, 10 gowns that started as sketches, late nights, lots of prayers, and a whole lot of faith will walk the runway at New York Fashion Week.
And I just have to say…
From my little pink room and my childhood dreams of making clothes for my dolls… to a runway in New York City.
Look what God can do.
I’m scared. I’m excited. I’m probably going to cry.
But I’m going.
And I cannot wait to take y’all along with me.
