I love teaching how to make tote bags. I love that you can decide what types of things you would likely carry in them and design them accordingly. Mauri created a beautiful bag this week. She thinks it will likely carry a lot of library books. We made sure to reinforce those seems to be sturdy; books can be heavy.

The bunny pillow had previously been a table runner. The Aspen pillow had previously been a sweatshirt. In hindsight, I always wish I had taken pictures of the original product.

The sweatshirt was from Aspen Colorado, which we turned into an adorable name pillow for a baby who will have the name Aspen.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mauri several months ago when I made a pillow for her out of a trophy horse blanket. Even I was surprised how cool it turned out. Our customers often have the best visions, and I simply bring them to life.

Her mother recently asked to sign Mauri up for sewing classes. She described to me how creative she was, and I was anxious for our time together. Our first project was a pillow slipcover. She excelled. Her seams were incredibly consistent and she was quick. With time to spare, I asked her if she would like to learn to sew a button. She did...and again, she excelled.

Great job, Mauri. I look forward to our next project together.

"What should I put in it?" he asked.

I told him I didn't think he would have any trouble finding things to put in his new drawstring bag. Sleep over, book for a road trip, rocks, sticks, maybe a frog. With boys you never know.
