Today is my grandma's birthday 🎂
Her first one, not here with us. She passed away a few months back 💚
She was also an avid crocheter, knitter, and many other things. My grandpa, followed their plan to move out here to Tennessee, and I am being gifted all of her crochet things, including unfinished projects 💚✨️
To follow her in her finger steps, to say the least, is such a privilege 💚✨️
So, here's the first project I have finished in her memory, simple pot holders. One for my mom, who loves the idea of having a bit of her mom and myself in a small meaningful gift. 💚✨️ figuring out what stitch she used was just the first step! Finding a close enough hook size, and playing with my tension to match as close as possible to hers, was a challenge but this is life, and we are always learning new things. I put a stitch marker where she left off and I began✨️💚

Charly the crocodile 🐊 💚

Charly asked for a crocodile 🐊 for his birthday... in February 😅
Well, I didn't like how it was turning out, so into the project pile it went... until I pulled it out, frogged it, and started over, and making it all in a weekend. It's not as finished as I wanted it to be, and he is 2 different greens, which i didn't notice until i had better lighting 😅🤣 The joke was to crochet a tear 😢 on it because charly has a tendency to cry crocodile 🐊 tears 😅 but he loved it so much once it was finished enough for him, he couldn't wait to cuddle him and take him everywhere and brag on his mama for making it for him 💚🐊✨️

Mom's new knitting buddy.

My mom took a pottery class a few months ago. She just brought this home from the kiln.

She said she was tired of her yarn ball rolling off the couch. She spent four sessions on this guy, getting the tail curl just right so it wouldn't snag the wool. It's perfect.

Guess I know what I'm getting for Christmas. 🐉🫠
