For so many years, I knew I had wanted to make my mom a cutting board with my Grammy’s recipe on it. When I first got my laser machine in October 2020, this was one of the very first projects I embarked on, and it’s still one of my favorites.

Every holiday season, the engraved cutting boards are a hit in my shop! There are three options of sizes available, this one is the largest and one of the most popular.

I remember making a sign for myself with my Grammy’s handwriting back in 2017 and knew in my heart it was something special and different. I knew how much I treasured it and I knew I wanted to share that with the world.

Here I am, 7 years later, and my handwriting picture frames are my number one best seller in my shop.

This works beautifully as a gift in memory of a loved one, and also as a child’s gift to a parent for the holidays with their little handwriting at this moment captured in time forever. I also love making these as a parent gift for a wedding, with either the bride or groom’s message to their parents handwritten on the frame.

This year I fell in love with making hand-sketched photos of families, and I’m selling them in the shop as Christmas gifts! All you have to do is send me a family photo and I can sketch it and add your choice of watercolor behind the sketch. (Please send all messages through my Etsy shop to streamline the process!)

There’s three options - I can make the sketch and send it to you as a digital download, I can send it to you as an 8x10 print, or I can add a frame to the 8x10 print. Three options in my listing for any price range!

We’re halfway through October, and I’m starting to think of Christmas gifts already 🎄.

If you’re looking for a cute gift from your kids to either a parent or grandparent, this is the perfect gift. You can send me your kiddo’s handwriting and signature, I’ll laser engrave it and cut it out and make your frame. The frame will come blank so your kiddo can paint it and add their DIY touch to it, and then you’d just have to either hot glue or wood glue the message to the frame. It’s super easy and the perfect mix of handmade and lasered treasure. The frame holds a 4x6 picture.

A few weeks ago I came across an article about why Catholics should not use Waldorf education with our children. As a cradle Catholic who strayed from my religion, and who has spent the past year and a half exploring my own spirituality and faith, I ended up returning to Catholicism with fresh eyes, a fresh perspective, and a deeper understanding of why we do everything we do (something I’m still learning every day). When I read the article, I deeply pondered it and explored all corners of my heart.

Oh, I am deep in the throes of curriculum planning for first grade for next year! I just posted two new videos on my YouTube channel about how I planned our watercolor and handwork curriculum for next year.

I started with the extracurriculars first because they seemed the easiest, plus I had some skills I needed to become more proficient in before I could teach them next year 😉 (I’m looking at you, knitting 🧶).

I’ve been prepping and planning for our reading and writing curriculum next, but that’s a much more in depth endeavor. I’ll be posting about that soon!
