Making this post makes me feel a little bit of everything. Sad, excited, proud, grateful, and honestly emotional for what’s to come. After 3 years of The Jaunty Lady storefront, this chapter is coming to a temporary close.

The Jaunty Lady is NOT closing. I’ll still be online, still creating, still embroidering and customizing all the things, and hopefully dreaming up some really fun new products very soon. But for now, I’m stepping away from the physical storefront.

As many of you know, I’m currently 6 months pregnant and due at the beginning of September. Stepping into motherhood while also heading into the busiest retail season made this feel like the right time to pause this chapter for now. And honestly… this business deserves time, intention, and vision. I know now more than ever what I want this brand to grow into someday.

We’ll absolutely have a storefront again eventually. One that feels even more refined, intentional, inspiring, and collaborative. I don’t know exactly where it’ll be or what it’ll look like yet, but I know it’s going to be something really special.

This has been my favorite job I’ve ever had. I’ve grown so much through this experience. I’ve learned what I’m good at, what I’m not good at, how to manage time better (still working on that), how important consistency is, and what I truly want this business to be. I’ve learned who I want to create for, what I want people to feel when they shop with me, and who I want to show up as through this business.

Most importantly, I’ve met so many incredible people along the way. Some truly loyal Jaunty supporters who made this store possible and successful over the last 3 years. Thank you for supporting me in whatever way you have, whether you shopped, shared a post, stopped in, encouraged me, or simply followed along.

Our last official day open will be Saturday, June 13th, but I’ll still be in and out working through the end of June. We will be closed this weekend for Memorial Day, and sales will begin next week as I start this transition.

This isn’t goodbye forever, just a pause before the next chapter. 🤍

🌸 IMPORTANT FESTIVAL UPDATE 🌸

After closely monitoring the weather overnight, and after doing everything we could to keep today’s plans in place, conditions have unfortunately taken a turn for the worse. Due to storms and high winds, we’ve made the difficult decision to move today’s Indiana Peony Festival to tomorrow (Sunday).

We are so incredibly sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Our vendors, florists, artists, and partners have spent months preparing for this day, and they would truly appreciate your support tomorrow more than ever 🌸

Same time, same place — just one day later.

In the meantime, our amazing downtown businesses participating in Brunch & Blooms are open, ready, and excited to welcome you today! If you’re still planning to be out and about, we hope you’ll stop in, shop, dine, and enjoy all the peony festivities they’ve prepared for you 💐
