Fun fact: I keep a ton of books on hand ready to wrap!

When I started doing Blind Dates with a Book, I thought, “I’ll just buy books wholesale.”

Turns out… wholesale books are almost as expensive as buying them on Amazon. 🤯

So instead, I’ve spent the last year searching for the best deals!

It was a fantastic plan…. Until I started packing to move.

Friends… I have packed roughly 15 giant bags of books. And when I say bags, I mean those huge Sam’s Club and TJ Maxx bags. 🫠📚🫠

The funniest part? If someone called me right now and said, “Noel, I have a huge lot of smutty romance books for a great price,” I’d probably be on my way to get them.

Things you don’t see…

It’s easy to see the pretty displays, the vintage treasures, and the finished booth.

What you don’t see is the pile of utensils spread out in the driveway getting scrubbed and sanitized because they came from a drawer full of mouse p**p. 🤢

Yep. Every single one.

I bought a box lot because I spotted those cool green-handled utensils and thought they deserved saving.

Another lot also came with a little wooden chair, and several dolls. One doll was a little too far gone and stayed behind. All of these dolls were donated along with a really cool CB radio.

A lot of what I buy is for one or two pieces I fall in love with. The rest gets cleaned, sorted, donated, recycled, or passed along.

And then there are so many dishes, glassware, kitchen tools, and treasures that get washed before they ever make it to the booth.

Treasure hunting is fun.

The cleaning? Not always so glamorous. 😂

But sometimes saving the cool green utensils makes the mouse p**p worth it… for someone else that’s not me. Because for me… it was gross 🤮

Moss & Found got a little refresh, and it’s already feeling so much better. 🌿

One of my favorite additions is the bench we turned into a display table. It gives the booth a cozy, collected feel and makes it easier to actually see all the treasures hiding in here.

Right now you’ll find baskets, affordable wall art, heart-themed pieces, primitive shelves, kitchen treasures, a vintage Caboodles-style organizer, books, and all kinds of little finds waiting to be discovered.

Speaking of books…
Y’all need to come buy some. 😂📚

I have so many great pre-loved reads to bring in, but this shelf keeps getting messy before I can get it organized the way I want it. What’s funny is I can leave books scattered around the booth and they’ll sell, but when I actually put them on a bookshelf they seem to stay put.

Part of that is probably my fault because I haven’t had time to sort everything by genre yet. But I’ll eventually get there!

Even with plenty left to do, it’s already looking so much nicer, and I’m excited to keep building it into the cozy treasure-hunting corner I imagined.
