Multi-disciplinary artist joins for Halloween Horror this Friday (10/29). “My style is heavily influenced by obsession with clasic horror and tends towards the surrealistic and weird. I associate the homecoming horror theme with my own awkwardness at high school dances, the terror of social anxiety, and botching my own eyeliner for prom. Also for a lot of people, myself included, there's the element of dysphoria of having to present in a very masculine or feminine way which can feel terrifying at times, and for me, not getting to dress like David Bowie or a relative of the Addams family was pretty earth shattering at the time lol. Mostly I just imagine all the freaks and monsters returning to their high school to exact revenge for how they were treated and maybe draining and eviscerating some normal teenagers while they're partying and having the night they never got.” Kyra has some seriously stellar art for this show; you don’t want to miss it!

has been a longtime supporter of events, and now, a participating artist. “I became obsessed with horror about a decade ago. I was drawn to inherent femininity of the genre that only true horror heads can understand. Puberty, virginity, the rules to abide by lest you find yourself at the jaws of an unseemly monster. I’ve worked on several horror films now as a costumer and a production designer. I am looking forward to weaving all of these concepts together to make some horrifyingly glamorous pieces!”

is always creepin’ it real with her art. “I’m VERY excited for this event’s theme because its where I draw a lot of inspiration from, creatively speaking. 80s horror/ prom takes up a lot of space in my brain. The flyer itself has given me inspiration to draw from! I’ll definitely be using some neon in my pieces!”
