Why do I do what I do? To get amazing reactions like this one from a client!

Quilty Fashion - this is me and my sweet quilty friend .bolan in her beautiful coat. This is my Kaffe tiered dress at QuiltCon 2026 in Raleigh last month.

Lesson learned - find what works for you. I brought this cute little machine with me to QuiltCon and it was perfect for sewing in my hotel room!

Scrappy make - I live for scrappy makes (hence, the previously mentioned messy quilty space 😜). This quilt pattern, Elegant Braids is a best seller on my Etsy page.

And, fabric storage...well, if you know me, I haven't figured this one out yet...it's on my to-do list. 😂🤣

My quilty space - this is an old photo because my room is in shambles at the moment. 😩😅

With holding down a full-time job, I have not been able to dedicate as much time as I would like to my own space. I'm sure I'm not the only one, right!? 😂

The goal is to have it looking better within the next month or two. A girl can dream...✨

Welcome to my Gram Page! I'm jumping in on and I don't think I've made it all the way through one yet! 😂 I'll give it a solid try this time. 😅

I'm Shankari, the Sewl Sister! I love working with scraps, thrifted clothes, and creating new pieces.

Over the years, I feel my quilt style shift and change based on the phases of my life. I'm a nurse, currently working in the Cath Lab, a mom to 3 teens, and a wife to my amazing husband for almost 20yrs this year!

My first quilt was made for my sister and you can see me here, putting some patches on it. To me, that means the quilt is well-loved. 🥰

As of January 2026, I have been teaching sewing classes at and it's been such a great experience! Here is one of my students! And peep the last photo for one of our upcoming projects! 🤩

I'll be teaching crochet, hand embroidery, and sewing over the year on Fridays.
