How long does it take to create a new color? 🎨
Months.
It starts with a Pantone number, an idea of a color we fall in love with. But turning that color into reality on 100% organic cotton is a completely different challenge.
Swatch after swatch travels back and forth between us and our dye house in Turkey. Too dull. Too gray. Too bright. Too cool. Too warm. We adjust, test, and repeat until the color feels exactly right.
Once we finally approve a sample, there is no small test run. We commit to dyeing an entire roll of organic cotton and hope that the community loves it as much as we do. Unlike in fast fashion, we commit to many seasons with the same staple colors. Nothing goes to waste.
This process is time-consuming, expensive, and sometimes a little nerve-wracking. It would be much easier to choose from existing fabric colors already available on the market, and that's why many yoga shorts end up coming in the same familiar shades. And often these shades can feel just a little "off".
But we believe color is worth the extra effort.
