Hi, we're Rachel and Todd, and we're the faces behind Sunny Cleaners.

We moved to the Murrells Inlet area a few years ago after leaving our corporate jobs in Raleigh to build something of our own. We actually started as a Sunny's customer. We got to know the business, loved the craft of textile care, and when the previous owner's health pushed him toward retirement, we bought it. That was May of 2024.

Since then, we've been reimagining what a dry cleaner should be for how people actually live now. We've spent the past two years making the whole experience effortless, and a big piece of that is pickup and delivery. Your groceries show up at your door. Your prescriptions do too. We think your dry cleaning and laundry should work the same way. No trips, nothing to remember.

And we're hands-on owners. You might catch Rachel behind the counter, Todd running deliveries, or both of us at the plant helping the team get orders out.

When we're not working, we're usually on the Marshwalk, on the golf course or tennis court, or walking our two dogs at Huntington Beach. This area is home for us, and the people we serve are our neighbors.

It happens to the best of us. Here is what to do the moment wine hits fabric.

Dab — do not rub. Blot the excess liquid immediately with a clean cloth. Rubbing spreads the stain and pushes it deeper into the fibers.

Use cold water only. A small amount of cold water can help dilute the stain. Do not use hot water, and do not reach for chemicals or stain sprays.

Keep heat away from it entirely. Heat causes the natural sugars in wine to caramelize into the fabric, leaving permanent brown staining that no cleaner can reverse.

Then bring it to us. The sooner the better — the longer wine sits, the harder it becomes to remove completely. We handle wine stains on linen, cotton, silk, and delicate fabrics every day.

Leather holds up beautifully — until it doesn't. Here is how to protect it between cleanings.

Never use water or household leather cleaners on stains. Leather is porous, and water can cause it to stiffen, crack, or darken permanently in spots.

Blot, don't rub. If something spills on leather, blot gently with a dry cloth immediately. Rubbing pushes the substance deeper into the material.

Keep it away from direct heat and sunlight for extended periods. Heat dries out the natural oils in leather and leads to cracking over time.

When it needs real attention, bring it to us. We clean and condition leather using methods that protect the material rather than strip it.
