Position Type: Part-Time / Flexible
Starting Hours: Thurs, Fri & Sat, 10 am - 5 pm (also as needed)
Location: Mystic, CT - In-Store
Starting Pay: $17.50 Hourly
Contract type: W2
Reports to: Retail Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive, customer-focused Retail Sales & Operations Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the face of our retail store, handling day-to-day customer interactions, managing client communications, and supporting store operations to ensure an excellent customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Customer Experience: Greet in-store customers, assist with product selection, and provide personalized services (including measuring garments/pants for a perfect fit).
• Sales & Outreach: Conduct and answer phone calls to clients, follow up on leads, and call clients when their order is ready.
• Store Operations: Handle general administrative tasks, manage daily phone inquiries, and assist with inventory management. Call and text alteration order customers with updates.
• Team Collaboration: Maintain a smooth, organized store environment so our specialized production and design teams can focus on growth projects.
• Qualifications: Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, or hospitality is highly preferred.
• Strong verbal communication skills and comfort making outbound phone calls.
• Detail-oriented with basic math and measuring skills.
• Warm, professional, and enthusiastic personality.
Daily Operations Tasks:
• Maintain store displays and collaborate with Design on creative window displays
• Collaborate with Design on social media marketing ideas and campaigns
• Steam, iron, and fold clothing as needed
• Ensure clothing on racks is hung at least one finger length apart for presentation
• Open and close the cash register
• Handle cash as a cashier and perform transactions
• Help the team with store inventory
• Communicate with the eCommerce Designer on customer trends and help keep system inventory up to date
• When the seamstress is not available, take customer measurements and update the alterations spreadsheet with notes.
• Keep the sales floor clean by sweeping, mopping, and dusting as needed
• Help take out trash and recycling at the end of the day
