Where bold brims, feathers, and florals steal the spotlight—get ready to turn heads at the Kentucky Derby Hat Contest!

The day is filled with so much more than shopping. You’ll hear local musicians playing throughout downtown, enjoy performances by the Mystic Garland Dancers, taste the different delights the restaurants prepare and see everyone embracing the spirit of the day with their Kentucky Derby hats. The three best hats win a gift basket filled with items and gift cards from our amazing merchants!

Over the years, the event has continued to grow and flourish. Adore has been proud to serve as a main sponsor, helping to fund the flowers and support the experience, and with the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce joining as a partner, it’s been wonderful to see the Spring Stroll continue to thrive.

This event is all about bringing the community together for a fun, festive day while supporting the businesses that make Downtown Mystic so special. I hope you’ll join us this year 🌸

The Downtown Mystic Spring Stroll has been a longtime tradition, and in 2019 I was excited to build on that foundation by introducing the flower cart concept — a simple idea to thank shoppers while supporting our local merchants.

That first year, I worked along with Anna Troiano to raise funds to help bring the event to life and create something fun, interactive, and community-focused. The, coin-for-a-flower, encourages you to explore downtown, with each purchase, you’ll receive a coin that can be exchanged for a flower at the Flower Cart. The more you shop, the more blooms you collect, creating a beautiful bouquet to take home as a thank you for supporting small businesses.
