Our teacher treat boxes also included buttercream frosted sugar cookies with a twist. My first batch of macarons in a year was 95% successful š. I did have a few lopsided shells so I decided to repurpose them.
I attempted a Christmas tree frosted design with buttercream and a palette knife (inspired by Megan from .white.whisk ). Pulsated the less than perfect macaron shells into a flour like texture to sprinkle on top for a realistic moss like texture. (This is typically done for velvet macarons by Kayla )
Iāve been out of the baking and social scene for so long so I apologize if someone else has combined these techniques or repurposed them. Happy to credit you if you comment.
Iām no sugar cookie baker, or frosting magician but the boys and I had fun experimenting and trying something new. Especially for their teachers Christmas gifts. A handmade gift from all of our hearts. Also excited to be more active in the kitchen and on socials in the new year.
