Grateful to Tim Curry for changing my world at 15 years old and opening the world of costumes, drag and exciting colorful people. Forever grateful to have seen his outstanding acting in many roles throughout the years. He will very much be missed.

I just woke up to the news and I had to process it first even though I knew this time was going to come for Tim. 🥺

Farewell Tim Curry… and thank you for changing my world. When I was 15, my world had been turned upside down. After my parents divorced, my mom and I moved from our farm to Concord. I was shy, a little lost, and, like a lot of teens trying to find their place, I got into a little mischief here and there. Then one night, I went to a midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show in Concord. The elevator doors open… and out steps Frank-N-Furter. 😍
Tim was magnetic, mysterious, fearless, beautiful, unbelievably sexy. I had never seen anything like him. In that moment, my world changed. That night I met Angela Decius, who played Magenta in Berkeley’s legendary Indecent Exposure cast. She smiled and said, “If you think this is something, come to Berkeley.” So I did. I told my mom I was staying at Angela’s house, but instead I found myself backstage, surrounded by people who welcomed a nervous 15-year-old with open arms. That very first night they made me an honorary Transylvanian, and for the first time in a long while, I felt like I truly belonged. I was lucky enough to fill in one night as Columbia and another night as Magenta. Being trusted with those roles, even briefly, is something I’ll always treasure. Our Frank-N-Furter in Berkeley, Curtis, was one of the kindest people I met. Years later, at a reunion, he still remembered that shy, innocent girl who wandered backstage and instantly fell in love with this extraordinary world. I wasn’t just captivated by the performances. I was fascinated by the costumes, the props, the sets, the creativity that brought everything to life. I watched the film over 250 times because I studied every detail.

Looking back now, I realize those nights quietly planted the seeds for the designer I would become. My love of creating statement jackets, costumes, wearable art — it all began there, surrounded by people who showed me that imagination has no limits, and that it’s okay to be unapologetically yourself. Tim Curry didn’t just play a character. He created a place where outsiders could find family. He helped a frightened farm girl from a broken home discover acceptance, creativity, confidence, and joy. I’ve followed his career ever since. His talent was extraordinary. Every role was completely different, every performance unforgettable. When illness took him away from performing, it broke my heart, but nothing can diminish the legacy he leaves behind. Thank you, Tim Curry. You’ll always be my Frank-N-Furter. And every time I hear the opening notes of “The Time Warp,” I’ll think of that 15-year-old girl whose life was forever changed because of you.
Thank you for everything.
💔😘

Pictured here at Dennys in Concord for after show food at 3am with Angela and a small part of the cast. And yes, me with my Cabbage Patch doll. (I’ve always been weird). lol

Bottom-
Reunion picture in Berkeley with Curtis myself and the gentleman that played Eddie, which would throw me into the air during his scene because I was thin and small I can’t remember his name, but I know he passed a certain time after this photo. He was a very sweet person and I loved him for being so nice to me. 🙏🏻❤️
