Just really into the feeling of it, you know? How it felt — how it felt for everyone through the entire rush of the day.

What a parent’s dream realized looks like. The sound of 200 people catching their breath to watch you walk down the aisle. Laughter of three generations passing around one former bachelorette’s disco cowgirl hat. (And the unrestrained joy of 200 people reconnecting, dancing to “Come on Eileen.”)

Heading home to Nashville from San Diego and wishing California was a little closer to Tennessee.

Words can’t express the gratitude for . Thank you for an education worth years of guidance, seamlessly packed into four days. I’m heading out with my cup overflowing. I can’t wait to get back to the very beginning, “a very good place to start.” (, your family and your story is incredible; wishing you all the luck.)

There aren’t enough words of thanks for who saw my potential and extended the kindness I didn’t afford to myself, and to who shared the importance of allowing ourselves to show up, to have fun, to take up space, and to take photos of sunlit peonies in the garden — just because they look like fine art all on its own. Just like I did at 19 when I never imagined this little memory collecting hobby would turn into the best job in the world.

If you know me, you know I’m not often online. You also know that even offline, I rarely know what day it is. But this week, I wrote a blog post. And this, y’all, is a big deal.

Give it a read, if you want.

While I’ve been offline, I’ve been in our wood-shop, in the fields, and all over the East coast — as always with my camera in tow. the downtime, I *finally* changed my name after getting married last year. I’ve been honing my carpentry skills and working to accept the color distortion that comes with narcolepsy. Through a bit of re-editing past shoots, I’ve been slowly learning how to treat myself more gently and along the way, I’ve found that life is (shockingly) so much more vivid when you take the time to live it.

In short, this is just another reminder to take your time. And to go make something. See the small moments and take a breath. Let it be bigger than just another day. You deserve it.

Ally and Jackson’s anniversary session at Southall Meadows couldn’t have been more perfect. ✨ Working with them was such a treat.

How is it already October? It was just July, and now we’re in the thick of spooky season? I’ll never understand just how time flies so quickly but I’ll keep doing my best to make every minute count.

Speaking of— I’m reminded with every couple of how much joy there is in being a wedding photographer, and with Ally and Jackson, the takeaway was that, now more than ever, choosing to take the time to savor little moments that is life’s true luxury.
