It took me almost a solid hour to lay out this baby quilt 😂 but that’s ok, I’m doing what I can and listening to myself 💪🏼 Now that I don’t have a sewing room (or even a sewing space!) it’s a little tricky to keep track of all these pieces and sew on my kitchen island but I’ve managed to come up with a system that works for me. I should have this top sewn in no time, especially with this 3-day weekend 😋

Me tomó casi una hora entera organizando todas estas piezas para esta colcha de bebé 😂 pero ni modo, estoy haciendo lo que pueda y haciéndole caso a mi cuerpo 💪🏼 Ya que no tengo un cuarto para coser (ni un espacio para coser!) es un poco difícil mantener todos estos bloques organizados mientras cosó encima de la mesa de mi cocina pero he inventado un método que por ahora me está funcionando. Debo de tener esta parte terminada súper rápido, especialmente con este fin de semana largo 😋

The third trimester has set in and I am feeling it all. It took me so long to get to this stage of this next baby quilt, but I am getting there! Finally cut and trimmed all my HSTs and now to put it all together. I’m loving this gender-neutral baby quilt 🥰

I’m starting a new baby quilt for my noodle and this time I’m using a fellow Nashvillian designer’s pattern! Since we aren’t finding out the gender of the baby, we thought these Japanese print would be great since we honeymooned in Japan and it was one of the most wonderful trips of our lives. I’m starting the first of my noodle’s baby quilts and we’re starting with a baby size ! We’ve chosen not to find out the gender of the baby so everything we’re doing is gender neutral, and while this may not look like a gender-neutral fabric pull to some, everyone should get to enjoy purple and flowers!

This was such an enjoyable and relaxing project that I even convinced my husband to join me on because there’s no sewing, only cutting, ironing, and folding. And I love love love that I got to use up so any scraps. Another excellent book I recently finished! Between reading “Please Look After Mom” and unintentionally watching Squid Games and Crash Landing On You at the same time on Netflix, I felt like I spent a lot of time in South Korea lately and I am not complaining! This book is about a family whose elderly mother gets lost in a Seoul train station and they spend the entire book looking for her, but as they do they reminisce on their time with her and wonder if they really knew her at all. It’s a wonderful and haunting book about family relationships and the sacrifices parents (particularly mothers) make that their children and spouses often never know about and can’t appreciate. It made me think a lot about my own relationship to my mom and my own transition into motherhood. I loved every moment with this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
