I worked at Kisser for a little over two years, but now I’m just filling in when folks need time off for birthdays or some extra rest. I look forward to these days, being with the gorgeous little family there and serving our happy hungry guests. I knew my friend LeeAnn Cherry (from Bear Creek Farms!) had a reservation this day, because she told me when she gave me a tour of her farm with a bunch of chefs and cooks, and made us all biscuits and sausages. If you make me biscuits, you get a hoodie. Those are my rules. The fact that Davis was her lunch date and showed up sporting his own matching Sick Dye made this shift start at 1000000000/10 for me. Community & cuteness via matching outfits is the sickest thing I could ever imagine 💚

HAIIIII guys, omg I’m popping up the Saturday after Thanksgiving for Small biz Saturday on the lawn at from 11-4! This will be my ONLY sale this holiday season, mainly because I did not prepare early (ooopsie!) and I personally love to take it easy during the holidays as my hustle just wanes when its chilly and dark comes early. I DO have exciting new ice dyed sponge hoodies, some fresh hippy cammo overalls… and you can look forward to some great pieces at great prices because as always, I want more room my studio so I can make more stuff! 🪭When my friends from Kisser asked me to make an art piece for their new bakery, Babychan, I knew this needed a different approach from anything I had made before. I wanted it to be inspired by Japanese crafts like shibori (geometric folds & dip dying), sashiko (decorative stitching), and boro (visible mending and patchwork) but also reflect the time and place of this bakery and myself as a maker. Adding in ice dyed remnants, a few quilted panels, a super spiral tea towel and embroidering some sweet little scenes on my dinner napkins included the home sewing I grew up on, and the familial crafts of my own family line. My maternal grandmas Doris and Pearl embroidered cartoon woodland animals on every pillowcase they had, and I own a blue and white polka dot quilt hand stitched by my paternal great grandmother in the early 1800s. So this feels like us: a combo of me, my friends, right now, and our histories. I hope you go get in line early to enjoy the incredible gifts on offer Babychan! If you ask me, you’re getting a hojicha latte, a curry pan, a milk bread cube w furikake and cream cheese, and a black sesame swill roll! (And soon, something from the lunch menu!) So honored to be a small part of the delicious Kisser/Banychan team!

Another novel project has been completed! Katie Vance of invited me into the boardroom of their new office building which is a delightful showroom of thoughtful singular finishes, and asked me to collaborate on some hand-dyed fabric for custom window dressings. I got inspired by pink mexican lace agate and emperor moths, then learned a lot about how precise I could get with my process and controlling its many variables for consistency across a large scale project (like 55 yards of matching fabric). Patiently moving through iterations of color combinations and fabrics expanded my view of what I can do, and Im so grateful for that experience! It is a thrill to see the beautiful finished panels Cade meticulously tailored finally installed in the space. Now that I’ve seen a wall of fabric, I am addicted- I do hope to do more projects like this in the future!
