Faerie Hollow Studio

Faerie Hollow Studio Message Cheryl Platter for questions! Artist Cheri Platter creates precious metal clay jewelry with semi-precious gemstones. . She listened! thank you

Cheri Platter of Faerie Hollow has been working with the faeries in Brown County for the past 18 years. After 33 years as a production potter, she was advised three years ago by these wise fairies to change her creation of art to jewelry. Precious Metal Clays are pure metal dust mixed with organic binders and most metal clay is processed from recycled metals. After studying metal clays and researc

hing semi-precious gemstones, Cheri took a Level One Certification class needed to teach classes in Metal Clay and in 2009 remodeled her studio space as a comfortable place to teach. Classes in precious metal clay making (specializing in silver and bronze clay) are offered in various skill levels and time durations. Other classes include jewelry techniques and wire wrapping. See website for further details and instructions. (www.cheriplatter.com)

Gone are the pottery wheel and equipment, the glazes and chemicals and the kilns. In came the tiny metal clay kiln, tiny tools, tiny texturing sheets and all new work surfaces. After completing Silver or "Bronz" clay pieces, they are coordinated with semi-precious gemstones for necklaces, earrings, pendants plus a selection of individual silver beads for "beaders" and jewelry makers. Now some will tell you she is working by herself because there is no such thing as fairies! Well, you will just have to visit Faerie Hollow Studio to see for yourself. Welding comes second nature to him so hot glass beads with a torch was a breeze. Cheri uses his creations to make necklaces, earrings, bracelets and pendants. All of my work is Available at Spears Gallery, 15 S. Main St Nashville,
IN... and at Studio Stuff in Franklin IN located on block north of the court house on Main St. I am open to design for individuals.. just call me.. 812 988 8378 or message me on this page..

/ Leonardo da Vinci /
Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci was an Italian polymath of the High Renaissance who was active as a painter, draughtsman, engineer, scientist, theorist, sculptor and architect. While his fame initially rested on his achievements as a painter, he also became known for his notebooks, in which he made drawings and notes on a variety of subjects, including anatomy, astronomy, botany, cartography, painting, and paleontology. Leonardo's genius epitomized the Renaissance humanist ideal, and his collective works compose a contribution to later generations of artists matched only by that of his younger contemporary, Michelangelo. Born out of wedlock to a successful notary and a lower-class woman in, or near, Vinci, he was educated in Florence by the Italian painter and sculptor Andrea del Verrocchio. He began his career in the city, but then spent much time in the service of Ludovico Sforza in Milan."

To those who look no deeper than what they're told, electric vehicles seem like such wonderful things.. But, for those who look behind the curtain, they are very ugly....
