Dear community,

This note comes with both tenderness and clarity. I want to share an important update regarding Dhibi Couture.

After long and careful consideration, I’ve decided to pause the business in its current form.

I’ve loved designing veils—creating beauty, telling stories through texture and form, and pushing creative boundaries. But over time, the business became creatively misaligned and thus financially unsustainable, especially as it shifted away from my couture ready-to-wear line model and began to be viewed as a custom-only atelier, creating one-off veils. This was not my desired intention or vision and made it harder to scale successfully.

Life has also asked more of me in recent years than I ever anticipated. The loss of my sweet friend Lisa, alongside the years long, ongoing reality of caregiving for my husband, has reshaped my priorities and my capacity. Right now, my heart and energy are being called elsewhere.

I’m entering a new chapter focused on something deeply human and necessary: finishing my book, sharing my voice and true advocacy about caregiving through public speaking, and building a revolutionary nonprofit dedicated to supporting adult cancer patients and caregivers with real, tangible help—the kind that truly changes daily life and the quality of it.

Dhibi Couture may re-emerge in the future in a form that better aligns with sustainability, creative autonomy, and life balance. But for now, I’m pausing with enduring love and respect for all that Dhibi Couture has been.

Thank you all for supporting my work, my creativity, and this evolution, whether you were a bride, a fellow creative or entrepreneur. I hope that connection can continue into this new chapter of advocacy and leadership for a better cared-for community as a whole.

I trust what’s ahead, even as I honor what’s been.

With love and gratitude,
Kristin

Art, like life, moves in seasons.

In order to best serve my creative purpose and to keep in Dhibi Couture’s vision in line with its offerings, I’m taking a creative sabbatical to reflect, realign, and refocus my artistic direction.

Our ready-made designs will remain available on the website, but I’ll be pausing new custom commissions for the time being.

You will still see occasional posts and stories and I want to thank you all for your continued support and understanding as I take this time to renew and return inspired. āœØšŸ™

Swipe to see where it all began…
A veil I quietly stitched for myself — not knowing it would become the first page of a much bigger story. ✨

I saw a spark of something sacred.

That veil was the beginning of a dream I wouldn’t pursue for another 7 years.

The heartbreaking loss of my brother-in-law Peter — who rose from childhood poverty and abuse- through pure tenacity, blood, sweat and tears built his own 6 figure flooring business- was the catalyst to live more purposeful and share my passion for Love through wedding veils.

Today, Dhibi Couture celebrates 13 years in business — each veil still made with the same love, every stitch still carries the same intention as I put into my own 20 years ago.
Every veil is an heirloom in the making.
And every bride I serve reminds me why I began.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to honoring legacy, love, and the art of heirloom craftsmanship. šŸ¤

What a gift to wake up to these gorgeous images!!!

Im so blessed and grateful to have been included in such a beautiful family celebration and given the opportunity to create a true generational heirloom veil for Michala!

Lace from her Mother’s and Grandmother’s wedding gowns were carefully repurposed to make a dramatic and unique piece that has its own story to tell.

But the veil was just one part of a very well thought out strategy to really express themselves at their wedding. Peter’s suit was also a custom creation by right here in Connecticut!

But this isn’t a surprise to those close to this hardworking, entrepreneurial couple. Supporting local is just their roll. šŸ©·šŸ™šŸ¦„

Seeing all the beautiful tributes to Lisa has been uplifting to my sad heart. I’ve had to step back for minute and take some time to process and grieve.
I’m still not sure how to articulate my feelings properly, so please bear with me.

Lisa was more than a fellow wedding vendor and small business owner, she was one of my closest and dearest friends for almost 12 years.
We met after I reached out to her on Facebook because I loved her wedding planning posts. I asked if she would ever be interested in connecting in person and she immediately responded with, ā€œSure! How about coffee on Thursday?ā€
In person, there was an instant friendship, where we bonded as recently started small businesses in the wedding industry that we both adored and were still working day jobs as we each tried to build our businesses.
Our friendship deepened past business very easily like a lot of Lisa’s closest friends will also tell you. She was a light that you couldn’t get enough of.
Her infectious laugh….a low giggle at first and then suddenly everyone was laughing too. Her little dances she did as she would enter into a room told you the ACTUAL party had arrived lol.
My husband and her then-fiancƩ Anthony also bonded over their gear head obsession of muscle cars which made our friendship all that more fun.

We attended her and Anthony’s ā€œvow renewalā€ which was a blast of a party. She thought of everything…..even special GF/DF cupcakes from my favorite allergen free bakery were brought over to our table just for me, as everyone else enjoyed all of the unbelievable ( but inedible for me) deserts.

I remember she came out on a Sunday afternoon to help me set up my booth for Hartford Fashion week Vendor show when I was all by myself. She literally saved me that day. I was crying on the back of my husband’s truck tailgate in total overwhelm when she showed up.

When my husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2018, she and Pam concocted a plan to hold a benefit for us after we started to incur huge medical bills from chemo. My husband and I were absolutely stunned in the large turnout and generous donations and so very thankful.

During multiple hospital stays and some emergency visits for my husband, she was always available for me, offering to just come sit with me in the waiting rooms so I wasn’t alone.

The countless photoshoots and collaborations, referrals and introductions…. She always wanted everyone to get their work seen and their business flourish.

But actually seeing her in action at real weddings was a treat. She always maintained a professional and calm decorum even when dealing with difficult situations. She knew where everyone was supposed to be, when and what they should be doing. She absolutely LOVED her clients and her team. And it showed. She gushed over hearing about birth announcements and referrals from her legacy clients as well as the specially curated team dinners to show her appreciation. Her work and dedication is evidenced by the many awards that Nightingale Events have been given over the years.

I will miss my dear friend tremendously for the rest of my days but I am blessed to have also had a great business ally in the industry we both love so much.

This industry and the New England /East Coast region have lost a huge asset and advocate for couples and for wedding vendors alike. We will do our best to hold each other up and to keep her energy and love for Love alive.

ā€œAn expert at transmutation; a practitioner capable of mystical transformation at the highest level of order. A problem-solver; a life-changer; an unlimited creator.ā€

Sometimes the universe pulls a group of people together to become the true expression of magic.
These shots of looking otherworldly on her NYE wedding, captured by the true alchemist are the epitome of ethereal storytelling.

I am so honored to have contributed a small part to this day with a couture cathedral heirloom veil, with coordinating French lace trim to complement her stunning lace dress.
