Happy WORLD BICYCLE DAY!!!

Riding a bike put a smile on our face when we were 8, it gave us freedom from our parents when we were 12, and it continues to bring joy when we’re in our twilight years. Perhaps the only time it might not give us joy is the day after we get our license and the keys to Dad’s car.

Introducing the first ever Pedal Paparazzi. What is it? Glad you asked. It’s a fun way to have your picture taken while cycling at your favorite pace up the Seacoast.

Put on your 1A jersey, ride north on the coast, and we’ll snap a photo of you in action. It will be hard to photograph all the cyclists, so needless to say, we’ll be focused on those wearing anything 1A.

This Sunday, from 9-10 am, photographers will be taking cover in the trees, behind rocks, you name it, between Fox Point and Atlantic Avenue (think 111) snapping action shots of cyclists.

The weekly ladies-only ride is on, hosted by and led by . There are two pace options: 18-20 mph for those seeking a smooth and speedy group, and 13-15 mph for those wanting a no-drop pace. The ride rolls at 5:45 pm sharp from Colonial, located at 775 Lafayette Road, Portsmouth.

Ever thought it would be fun to try a group ride? 1A Cycling and Colonial Bicycle Company offer weekly ladies-only rides. The best part… it is hosted by - local cyclist extraordinaire. She’s a ton of fun, more passionate than most regarding cycling, and always the most welcoming person on a group ride.

If you’re thinking about group riding, this is the perfect Thursday. Jen has 2 groups going out, each offering a pace that suits your style.

The ride starts and ends at , 775 Lafayette Road, Portsmouth. The ride rolls at 5:45 pm this week, so we recommend being there by 5:20 pm to pump up the tires, get the cleats on, and say hello.

5 years ago we wanted to create a clothing brand that was inspired by the 1A coastline. Why? It’s feels good, either consciously or subconsciously, to show everyone the pride you have in the beaches, harbors, and coastal hideaways where you surf, cycle, skateboard, fish, boat, kayak or just chill.

The 1A quiver of casual clothing, hats, and gear was inspired by our amazing coastline - How lucky are we?!
