I keep expecting you to be around
there's no Solace my heart has found
Your sweet demeanor was a silent one
The longing for you has begun
I just don't see an end
To terribly missing my friend

My sweet little maverick,
You were Our first baby
Our constant companion
You never once turned down the chance to cuddle
I'll miss your funny maverick-only quirks
You kept us constantly on our feet

You were so incredibly smart-and mischievous and truly always one step ahead of us-but I think we finally had you figured out after almost 12 years!

There was Never a night you didn't sleep with us in bed, and even as it got hard for you to walk, especially climb stairs, you still made that nightly climb up the stairs, walked slowly down the hall, and beckoned at the side of our bed til we picked you up (your cute little "yip!"❤️)

I'll miss the calm of your hugs! sometimes the only hug that would comfort me in the world was yours -you'd stay as long as I needed, your little head head resting contently on my shoulder

Sweet Mav, I hope you have a million toilet paper rolls to scurry away with under your own little table -on a carpet so soft you could melt into it

I hope the sun forever shines on you, every minute of every day, warming your beautiful red fur, giving you the greatest naps you've ever had

I hope there are endless tables of feasts for you to undoubtedly reach (or fall trying!)

I hope your "little black nose" is gently sniffing every last blade of grass, with an abundance of scents and aromas to fill up your senses

I hope you're painless and running free and fast

Gosh, I miss you. We will always remember you, cherish you and love you Mavver muffin.
