Iris and Lark was birthed out of a need for hip, vintage accessories with a full time mama budget, and that is exactly what we offer! We crafted our first head wrap and bib in April of 2015 and by August 2015, we were loading up our carts at the local fabric stores to get ready for our launch in September. ver we have a little bit of a different story when it comes to why we started Iris and Lark. Shortly after her delivery they started visiting a chiropractor on a regular basis and noticed that Mia's head was not forming the way that it should be. As they continued with Mia's chiropractic treatment and pediatrician visits, they came to the conclusion that in order to help Mia's head form back into it's proper place, they would have to take precautionary measures by no longer placing elastic hair accessories on Mia's head. After months of research, Angela and Everett learned that placing elastic head bands or hair accessories on infants (with undeveloped or soft skulls) for long periods of time can actually lead to misshapen skull development. Though it seemed like a simple task, everything came with either an elastic or tight fitting headband for infants and toddlers. And just like that, Iris and Lark was born. At first, we decided that we would solely create head wraps for infants and toddlers, but that didn't last long! We fell head over heels in love with the head wraps for ourselves and we quickly realized that other women wanted them too. One item lead to another and now we offer infant and toddler bibs along with youth and adult sized headwraps. We believe that the creative vision for Iris and Lark is not to stop there.
