My name is Emily Norton, and I am the proud owner of 2nd Hand Rose, Too Thrift & More, a third generation family-owned thrift store in New Market, Tennessee.
I was born and raised in Elizabethton, Tennessee, and graduated from Jefferson County High School. East Tennessee will always be home, and it’s where I learned the importance of faith, family, hard work, and treating people with kindness.
Before I’m a business owner, I’m a wife and a mom. My husband and our two amazing boys are the center of my world and the reason I work as hard as I do. Every long day, every challenge, and every accomplishment is for them. I hope to show my boys that with determination, integrity, and compassion, they can accomplish anything they set their minds to.
Taking ownership of 2nd Hand Rose, Too Thrift & More wasn’t just a business decision. It was an opportunity to continue a family legacy that has been built over three generations. Carrying that legacy is one of the greatest honors of my life.
None of this would have been possible without my mamaw. She believed in me, encouraged me, and helped lay the foundation for everything this business represents today. She taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, and treating people like family. The lessons she passed down continue to guide me every single day. I am forever grateful for her love, support, and the legacy she entrusted to me. I only hope to make her proud by continuing what she started and preserving it for future generations.
I’ve always believed that every item has a story and deserves another chance. That’s one of the things I love most about thrifting. A piece that someone no longer needs can become someone else’s favorite treasure. In many ways, that’s how I see life too. There is beauty in second chances, fresh starts, and finding value where others may have overlooked it.
Running a small business has taught me that success isn’t measured only by what you achieve, but by the relationships you build, the trust you earn, and the impact you have on your community. I love meeting new people, hearing their stories, and creating a place where everyone feels welcome.
I also couldn’t do this without the unwavering support of my husband and our two boys. They celebrate every victory with me, stand beside me through every challenge, and remind me every day why this journey is worth it. They are my greatest blessing and my biggest supporters.

My hope is that every customer leaves feeling like family and finds not only a special treasure but also a place they’ll want to return to again and again.
