On a long day out in the field a few seasons ago the crew and I started rattling off vegetable celebrity puns. From Broccoli Obama to Rutabaga Ginsburg to Okra Winfrey and Tina Turnip, we've been on a continuous crusade to turn all kinds of celebrities into vegetables. These characters initially made small appearances in our weekly news zine and gradually blossomed into a complete art show at our
local ice cream shop. Now, they're going portable in an effort to spread a bit of humor and vegetable pride. Thanks to our AMAZING friends at Camden Printworks, these high-quality t-shirts and onesies are pigmented in part by the vegetables they celebrate. Many of the celebrities are featured specifically for their contributions to justice, democracy, and equality, so I hope you wear them with pride, share them with humor, and come up with plenty of your own.
