I was asked a couple years ago by a friend to help do alterations to costumes for the drama club at Chestnut Ridge for their plays and I agreed. It was definitely something new and fun I had never done before and I thought making adjustments for a blowup rocket costume was pretty wild for The Adam's Family play a couple years ago! But last summer I was told they would be doing Frozen this spring and I knew it would be a super fun one to do! It has been an extremely challenging and crazy endeavor but so rewarding and exciting at the same time. There is a large cast and there were many costumes that needed altered. I stopped counting around 40. And there were so many more that the parents were doing as well! Some things were a quick 5 minutes and a couple dresses took several hours and days of going back and making adjustments until we got it right. But I have to give praise to these kids. They were all so respectful and gracious and kind and it was a joy to work with them all! The crew behind the scenes and directors were also amazing to work with and everyone just jumped in and helped with whatever needed done. Last night was opening night and it was absolutely magical! So if you were thinking about going, just go. I promise you won't be disappointed. And to Lauren, I'm not sure sometimes what I've gotten myself into, but thank you for asking me to come along for the ride. It truly has been a great time! I can't wait to see what you do next!
