🎃 Why don’t more people buy second-hand Halloween costumes? 👻♻️
Here’s something scary…
👻 An estimated 7 million Halloween costumes are thrown away every year across the UK.
🧴 Research estimated that Halloween costumes generate around 2,000 tonnes of plastic waste annually.
👕 Closer to home, Northern Ireland throws away around 533 tonnes of clothing and textiles every week!
These figures really make you think, especially when so many Halloween outfits are only worn once.
Charity shops, Vinted, Facebook Marketplace or swapping with friends could save money and reduce waste.
🎃 So why are we still buying new Halloween costumes every year?
👇 Do you buy new, second-hand or make your own?
And if you buy new, what’s stopping you from buying second-hand?
I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts!
