Needles X Albino & Preto
This collaboration between and explores the natural connection between martial arts, craftsmanship, and contemporary streetwear culture. While Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is rooted in discipline, movement, and self expression, Needles has long approached fashion through individuality, experimentation, and refined Japanese design. Together, the collection brings those worlds into conversation through a shared appreciation for process, identity, and community. The butterfly, an iconic symbol within Needles’ visual language, also carries a strong connection to Jiu Jitsu. Much like the art itself, it represents transformation, adaptability, and constant evolution. Progress in martial arts is built through repetition, resilience, and growth over time, values that mirror the philosophy behind both brands and the people who wear them.
For the training campaign imagery, Fabio Clemente, , and were chosen not only for their close relationship with A&P, but also because of their longstanding connection to Tokuro Aoyagi, CEO of Nepenthes from his years training in New York. Their inclusion reflects the genuine friendships and community ties that helped shape the spirit behind this collaboration.
Blending technical function with elevated design, the collection balances Japanese craftsmanship, vintage sportswear influence, and the culture surrounding Jiu Jitsu. More than a collaboration rooted purely in aesthetics, the project reflects how martial arts and fashion continue to intersect through movement, creativity, and the communities built around them.
