Learn the easiest ways to grade in Clo3D - plus some great shortcuts you can save for later! 😉
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ Distance Grading
The 1st xy table is set up for distance grading mode. This table is great for grading if you prefer to grade from the base size. This is also known as absolute grading.

2️⃣ Offset Grading
The 2nd xy table is set up for offset grading mode. This method is one of my go-to methods.

3️⃣ Keyboard Increments
You can use the keyboard to nudge the size steps according to the direction. This makes grading so easy and intuitive.

4️⃣ Shortcuts
There are so many helpful shortcuts for grading in Clo. You can right click on a grading point and access many of them.

Hey fashion, freelancers! 🤗

I recently hosted a coffee chat about clo3D with a few of my fellow friends and one question that popped up was what are some of the services you can offer with Clo3d?

The first main one is 3D rendering. You can take your Patterns into clo3D, simulate and render them.

PLUS, If you wanna take it to the next level you can animate these renders right within the software💃

Another great service to level up you freelance offering is a colorway preview. Using the tools in the software, you can preview the colors using industry standard color books, such as Pantone! The digital library in Clo3d will save you some money on color books. If you know how expensive those references can be this is a huge help for freelancers and small businesses that may be bootstrapping their design process 🌈💸

You can also take your services to the next level by showing, where on the garment a 2D graphic design or print will be placed and how that scale looks in proportion to the rest of that garment in 3D. The benefit of doing this in 3D is that you get a true picture of scale since it’s using a 2D cad pattern as reference 🤓

Another great service you can provide is grading. Using the software, you can grade patterns across a wide range of sizes, and the tools within the software are getting better and better every day. 🤌

One of the best things about this software is that you can take the graded pattern and render additional sizes and review the sizes on 3D avatars. So you no longer need a set up elaborate fit meetings, and coordinate fit models. 📆⏳
