Sleep schedules — we love ’em! Here is a sample sleep schedule for a 7-month-old baby with three naps.

The National Sleep Foundation recommends 7-month-olds get 12-16 hours of sleep in a 24-hour period. That sleep total includes both naps and nights. Aim for 10-12 hours of nighttime sleep, and 2-3 hours of daytime sleep split between 2-3 naps.

Some things to keep in mind:
🌙 The length of each nap can differ. Usually, the earlier naps in the day are longer, while the final nap is shorter.
🌙 Naps should not last longer than 2 hours.
🌙 Cumulative daytime sleep should ideally total 2-3 hours on average.
🌙 Don’t stress these about hitting these exact numbers! Every child is unique, so if your little one seems content and well-rested with slightly more or less daytime sleep, that’s okay.

If your little one is seven months, what does their sleep schedule currently look like? Share in the comments 👇

Parents are too often expected to do sleep training that doesn’t align with their beliefs. The truth is that traditional sleep training (like cry-it-out), is outdated... It can feel harsh, and often doesn’t fit with what modern-day families actually need. Like you, we knew there had to be a better way.

Batelle is pioneering a truly responsive approach to solving a child’s sleep issues. You can get your child to bed in 10 mins & sleeping through the night, not because they are “trained” to stop calling out to you when they need you, but because you teach them and they can trust your responses so much that they feel safe enough to go to sleep independently.

September is Baby Safety Month, so we’re sharing our tips for safe sleep all month long.

Babies — and parents! — love a swaddle. However, they should stop being used around the two-month mark, or before your baby is able to roll or break loose from the swaddle on their own.
