Ask me about opioids and adolescents👨🏽‍⚕️... Health Promotion Presentation today and the professor said dress appropriately so I said say no more 😜 Zoom attire includes bow tie, blazer & button down with some basketball shorts, had to and go all out! I haven’t worn dress clothes in what feels like forever so this was definitely a nice change up and made me feel good! Shoutout to my presentation group we killed it!

☞ Week 10 of nursing school is almost finished! Time is flying by! Each day goes by so fast yet recalling what I did 2 days ago feels like a lifetime ago because of how much is done in a day. This masters entry program is fast paced and there are a lot of moving pieces that make the academic grind that much more stressful yet rewarding.

☞ Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all clinicals, student labs, and lectures are cancelled and we have shifted entirely to an online platform. This has definitely been an adjustment, but pressure creates diamonds and I’m taking each task thrown at us one day at a time.
◦
☞ Check out this IGTV of an extraordinary clinical experience at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland from early February before COVID-19 surged. This is my first “day in a life of” vlog and I’m hyped! Due to managing the different assignments and exams, finding time to edit my content was rough. I used GoPro HERO 8 Black with edits on GoPro app which is different than my usually iMovie edits. I didn’t edit much but I feel the minimal edits show the “rawness” of managing classes/studying/adulting...emphasis on the adulting 😂

Happy Friday!

Week 7 of nursing school is complete and it is now spring break! Amongst all the new changes of moving to Baltimore, I had to try my first EVER Orange Theory class!
• It was a one hour class that combined high intensity interval training (HIIT) combined with explosive weight and calisthenics workouts. It was pretty challenging bur rewarding Bc without a challenge, there is no growth 💪🏽
I burned 1,000 calories in 60 minutes! My lungs are on 🔥 right now hahaha!
• Thank you for encouraging me to take a class!

Time to bring bxtra to Baltimore.

This move in has been amazing and nerve-racking at the same time. In 2020, it really is “new year, new me” but I always like to add my own flavor on things so really it’s “New Year, Better Me.” It’s a new state, new city, new education, new roommates, new lifestyle.

But whatever new things get thrown at me, I’m adapt and conquer my new surroundings with a sprinkle of my bxtra energy to keep things fun and exciting.

I’m starting orientation for Johns Hopkins School of Nursing tomorrow. Yet, this public health pic still holds dearly in my heart Bc of my undergrad degree in Public Health and PBH research with JHU PBH alumna Dr. Cronin! This post goes out to you Dr. Cronin!
