DAY 96: It’s been 11 days since my last post, but I’ve been following the challenge: not shopping and not repeating outfits. Yesterday I prepared for the cold weather by bringing my plants inside and putting away the a/c. I’m wearing a sweater I bought at Zara over 4 years ago. Not only is the color rich but it’s super soft and stretchy with pearls at the wrist. Pairing with some thrifted jeans by BananaRepublic and maroon socks that match my couch. Are you getting excited for sweaters and boots?

DAY 85: Never loved this blouse but I bought it for work and I still wear it for work. I paired it with my fave Athleta pants that you can bike in and still pass off as real pants in the office. Now that I’m back on screens all day, I’m living in my cat-eye glasses.

DAY 84: This paisley shirt by Free People I got when I tried a styling service years ago. Most of what the stylist recommended for me I didn’t like and was shocked by the price points. This shirt, however, was relatively inexpensive and the color and pattern so pretty, I couldn’t resist it. I’ve worn it frequently to my various offices and always feel comfortable and confident in it. I’m pairing it with some dark skinny jeans by Banana Republic. Here’s to clothes you can wear over and over and over again. That’s what sustainable slow fashion is all about.

DAY 82: Yes this trench coat is from fast fashion giant ASOS.com and, yes, this dress is from the other fast fashion brand Zara.com. But, the trench I’ve now had for years and although it’s a little too warm for NY in the rain and a little too cold for the snow, I still find ways to wear it. The Zara dress was a gift from my husband and this is only the second time I’ve worn it. But, hey, there’s been a pandemic in the way of my social life.

DAY 81: Starting a new job has definitely slowed down my posting. Don’t worry, dear challenge followers, I am still doing the challenge. I’m holding strong to my slow fashion ethos and not purchasing any clothes, bags or jewelry. I’m also not repeating outfits and can’t believe I’ve being doing this for 81 days! I wore this outfit to work this week, loving the thrifted Stella McCartney jeans. Now that the temperature is cooler it’s fun to wear jeans again. 👖

DAY 75: Keeping the fall theme going with a simple thrifted brown sweater and Stella McCartney sustainable jeans I found for a song on ThredUP.com. Funny how little time you have for gratuitous selfies when you start a new job. But I’m dedicated to seeing this challenge to the end. 🌺🌸🌺

DAY 73: We went downtown to set up our home office in the Village. As we were moving things around and dusting, my man pulled out a storage bag full of …. More clothes. More Summer clothes. More shorts. More tanks. Lots of tights. It was scary because this challenge can go even longer with me not shopping and not repeating outfits. It was also wonderful because I had forgotten I had these things and it was like I’d gone shopping. It’s all new to me again! 😍 We walked a lot today so Im wearing a simple white tank with my nTopology track jacket and active pants. Photos by

DAY 72: The weather in New York was perfect today: sunny and bright - cool and crisp. Mercury’s heading into retrograde so naturally I took the wrong train trying to get my son to school this morning. I’m now celebrating the end of a busy and amazing first week at work, wearing a new piece of clothing: my company’s track jacket. I’m also wearing another green shirt I rented on LeTote.com and ended up buying. I’ve worn it many a time to work… even took it with me to India. I hope you are enjoying your Friday night wherever you may be…. Photo by

DAY 70: A few years ago I became obsessed with renting clothes. I tried Rent the Runway but the clothes were too fancy for the tech startup world. Next I discovered LeTote.com and loved the service because the clothes were easy and I didn’t have to bother dry cleaning or washing them once they were worn. Instead, I just shoved dirty clothes into the return bag and let LeTote do all the cleaning. This worked for me until I started falling in love with pieces and decided to purchase them to keep instead of sending them back. The maxi dress I’m wearing today was a rental that I’m glad I decided to keep. It’s perfect got fall and easy to wear. Even in the rain.
