The Summer of ‘96 capsule collection

The year prior, Larry Clark's "Kids" was released, and the world at large was introduced to the counter-culture youth angst of NYC. That year, The Fugees' album, "The Score,'' dropped, and we witnessed the tipping point of African American culture crossing over to American pop culture for the first time without having to be watered down. ...And we are a couple of months removed from Badusim dropping, which will show America, and really the world, the soulful Afrocentricity and a "Rebirth of Cool." - Chris Gibbs

This time we take you back to the Summer of ‘96--The climate in Brooklyn around the time was unique, streetwear was in its infancy, Hip-Hop was transitioning from the underground into today's preeminent pop music, and fashion was just a reflection of the times. This capsule collection pays homage to the summer we met. The inspiration? Our love. As we look back now, we realize this summer was not only the foundation of our relationship but also the precursor to the lifestyle movement we now call “Streetwear”. We wanted to do a capsule that was inspired by our genesis that brought us into today, a mix of old-school ideas with a contemporary eye and fabrication technique— Ready or not?

BBS will be raffling off a chance to purchase a pair of the AIR JORDAN 1 LOW X TRAVIS SCOTT (WMNS). Raffle entries will take place at 1088 S Fairfax Ave. LA, CA 90019 today 04/26 from 10AM-12PM. Raffle submissions will close at 1PM. 

*** APPAREL WILL BE AVAILABLE @ 10AM ON BBS WEBSITE (LINK IN BIO).

This raffle is reserved for people who live within LA COUNTY ONLY. A VALID CA ID must be present so that we can verify that you are located within the LA county district. 

Once you receive a raffle ticket, you must enter the raffle no later than 12:59PM on 04/26. Winners will be announced via email by EOD.

(1) Entry per person. Anyone attempting multiple entries will have all of their entries cancelled. We reserve the right to cancel or ban any entries that we reasonably determine are of any use or form of collusion to enter the raffle.
